Technical:
Perform spatial analysis on key issue areas of interest to our Tribal Nation members.
Gather and weave data sets important to Tribal Nations in their rematriation activities.
Support effective consultation by co-creating GIS mapping and online tools as requested by our Tribal Nation Members.
Engage with partners to support GIS services and tools for Tribal Nation members that are accessible and expand capacity.
Support training and build tribal capacity to support data sovereignty, quality assurance, and learning among Tribal Nation members.
Seek out new best practices of technology, data sovereignty, and Indigenous-led applications to share with our Tribal Nation members.
Manage ICC website, members only portal, and share stories and successes of our Tribal Nation members.
An Associate’s Degree or higher in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science or associated fields.
GISP certificate or 3-5 years working in GIS related jobs.
Proficiency in ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and other GIS software and coding.
Experience with spatial datasets, meta data, databases and website development.
Working knowledge of CARE and FAIR standards, data sovereignty protocols, and FCIP protocols.
Experience working with tribal communities and excellent references from community members demonstrating your ability to honor and respect Indigenous values in your working relationships.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail coupled with a love of dancing with data as a vocation of choice!

Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year based on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Virtual with preference for candidates located in what is now known as Virginia
