GIS Project Manager

Cloudpoint Geospatial is looking for a GIS Project Manager to coordinate people and processes to help expand the work we provide to local governments, campuses, and utilities. This position will involve working alongside a team of technical GIS professionals to address common industry problems and challenges. An ideal candidate will be a well-rounded team player with a problem-solving aptitude. Prospective candidates shall also display professionalism in interfacing with clients, be able to keep organized and thorough notes, and work well independently and collaboratively. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Managing project resources, schedules, and budgets
  • Addressing client’s ongoing GIS needs
  • Supervising and mentoring staff
  • Occasional traveling to and presenting at conferences and other events

 

This position is eligible for permanent remote employees or a hybrid schedule from our Metamora, IL office.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in physical or natural science, geography, engineering, planning, computer science, a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of experience managing projects
  • GIS Professional Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Excellent client facing and internal written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in basic office applications and the ability to learn new hardware and software components

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with local and county government, utilities, and/or campus facilities
  • Master’s degree in GIS or related field

 

Work Context:

  • Frequent work operating a computer in an office (or home office) setting  
  • Frequently sedentary with occasional fieldwork requiring walking and lifting 20lbs
  • Frequently communicates with coworkers and clients about project work and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information in these situations
