Performs difficult skilled technical work in the preparation and maintenance of real property maps and records, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the GIS Director.

Prepares, maintains, and analyzes digital map layers of GIS land base features such as street, buildings, hydrology, zoning, city limits and CAD (computer aided dispatch, and addressing).
Researches and analyzes different types of GIS data.
Creates and print maps for county offices and the general public and creates web mapping applications.
Locates parcel(s) by tax map number; create maps relating to identified properties.
Answers telephones and inquiries from the general public and other departments.
Assigns street addresses to all residential, commercial, industrial and institutional properties resulting from new construction, building and mobile home permitting processes, as needed.
Checks permits for planning to review location accuracy.
Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member, if appointed or volunteer.
Performs related tasks as required.
Thorough knowledge and skill editing and maintaining geographic layers using ESRI's ArcGIS, ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, specialized software and other land information systems; thorough knowledge of manual and digital cartographic techniques and standards and traditional map production processes; thorough knowledge of State and local codes governing land development, transfer of real property and rights of ownership and utilization; ability to comprehend technical specifications for manual and computer-aided/automated cartographic products; ability to use a personal computer and standard office productivity software, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, government officials and the general public; ability to effectively communicate ideas both orally and in writing.
Bachelor's degree with coursework in geography, cartography, planning, computer science, or related field and considerable experience in geographic information systems design, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
