GIS Consultant/Project Manager - ArcGIS Enterprise / ArcGIS Pro / ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing

Geonamic Systems, Inc. is seeking candidates to fill GIS Consultant/Project Manager roles in our Johns Creek, Georgia corporate office.  Geonamic Systems is a leading asset integrity and data management software and service company providing solutions to oil & gas pipeline operators globally.

 

Job Description:  We are seeking experienced GIS Consultants with strong project management skills to design, implement, and oversee geospatial solutions using Esri technologies, with a focus on ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing (APR). This role combines technical expertise with leadership in planning, coordinating, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.

 

Responsibilities:

GIS Solution Development & Implementation

  • Implement ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing (APR) for linear referencing systems, including branch versioning and publishing feature edit services.
  • Where necessary configure Geodatabase Attribute rules using arcade
  • Design and configure Editing event workflows such as replace, configure replacement and attribute sets.
  • Hands-on experience using APR to perform route editing, such as realigning, retiring and reassigning route, and editing events.
  • Proficient experience with Pipeline data models, such as PODS and UPDM
  • Use ArcGIS Pro for editing, spatial analysis, and cartographic production for pipeline assets.
  • Experience using Python scripts and geoprocessing tools to streamline workflows and data integration.

Project Management & Leadership

  • Lead GIS projects from initiation through closeout, following PM best practices.
  • Develop project charters, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
  • Coordinate project resources, assign tasks, and track deliverables to meet client expectations.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, provide project status updates, and manage change requests.
  • Ensure project documentation, training materials, and support resources are delivered on time.
  • Mentor and guide other staff and ensure quality assurance in all deliverables.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of GIS consulting experience with Esri technologies.
  • 2+ years of project management experience (PMP or similar certification preferred).
  • Proven track record managing multi-phase Enterprise GIS projects, including budgets and timelines.
  • Hands-on expertise with ArcGIS Pro and publishing services for editing
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, etc.).

Skills: 

  • Experience with SQL Scripting, Postgres or Oracle databases
  • Familiarity with the Esri Utility Network, Workflow Manager and Data Reviewer
  • Familiarity with FME Form and Flow
