Esk Spatial is a specialised spatial analytics and technology company dedicated to supporting informed, location-based decision-making, and enhancing asset and resource management.
We provide high-quality GIS services to clients across Australia and internationally, with three core teams:

The Role
We’re seeking a Spatial Analyst with an interest, and ideally experience, in the local government sector. Knowledge in the natural resource management and/or carbon sector would also be advantageous. You will:
- Deliver GIS services in a strategic, planned, and systematic way.
- Support clients in achieving their spatial goals using platforms such as ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
- Combine technical expertise with authentic relationship-building to help organisations fully realise the value of their GIS investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, analyse, and maintain spatial data within client systems.
- Audit, quality check, and cleanse data for accuracy and reliability.
- Create maps, web maps and apps.
- Collaborate with Esk teams and local government stakeholders.
- Provide training and transfer operational knowledge to clients.
- Maintain strong, authentic client relationships.
- Introduce innovative ideas and modern approaches to spatial analytics.
Qualifications & Skills
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
- Proven skills in spatial analysis, GIS, and remote sensing.
- Proficiency in ESRI Suite (including Portal, AGOL and ArcGIS Pro), QGIS, or similar.
- Strong analytical and data visualisation abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Experience with automation using Python, FME or equivalents (desirable, but not essential)
- Experience in local government (desirable, but not essential).
- Experience in the natural resource management and/or carbon sector (desirable, but not essential).
