Join our team as a Senior Spatial Analyst

 

Are you passionate about using spatial and demographic data to shape urban planning and development? If so, we invite you to apply for the Senior Spatial Analyst position at Redland City Council!

 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Providing specialist advice and technical input on spatial, data, and demographic analysis to support significant City Planning and Assessment projects including the new City Plan and new Local Government Infrastructure Plan.
  • Conducting urban planning research, development tracking, modelling, and built form assessments.
  • Establishing and maintaining data hubs for primary and secondary data, including tools for analytic display and use.
  • Applying advanced GIS and geo-spatial coding techniques for modelling and analytics.
  • Preparing project documentation such as schedules, presentations, and reports.

 

Skills and experience:

 

  • Significant experience in data analysis and modelling, including the advanced use of spatial tools and programs, preferably within the planning and development industry.
  • Strong understanding of planning frameworks and statutory instruments relevant to data and modelling.
  • Advanced proficiency in GIS and geo-spatial coding for modelling and analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain data hubs and analytic tools.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and experience in developing key project documentation.

  • The team has spent the last year building various urban research data and models, the successful applicant will be joining the team for the next phase of exciting work including contribution to modelling growth scenarios for the New City Plan project, a new Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) as well as a whole of Council system replacement particularly impacting CP&A.
  • The position works across multiple different teams with a key focus over the next years working with the Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Planning teams, as well as the Performance and Innovation area.
