Summary

Joining the Mitigation Directorate within FEMA's Office of Resilience offers an exciting opportunity to become part of a team that builds and delivers creative solutions to empower communities to become more resilient and adaptable to intensifying hazards to reduce disaster suffering.

Duties

In this Emergency Management Specialist (Geospatial) position, you will be joining a team that invests in helping American communities become more resilient and mitigate against future disasters.

Typical assignments include:

- Applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify and implement
effective solutions.
- Producing maps and data products expressing the results of analytical
processes using ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) products,
Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, Python, R, SQL, or other programming languages.
- Facilitating data coordination and collaboration for disaster recovery
among Tribal, state, and local governments, the private sector, and
voluntary, faith-based, and community organizations.


Location: Washington, DC
Pay: $121,785 - $158,322 per year
Grade: IC 13
Vacancies: TWO (2)
Work type: Temporary - Intermittent - 120-day increments, based on the needs of the disaster
Telework eligible: Yes—as determined by the agency policy.
Travel: 25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.
Security clearance: Moderate Risk (MR)
