The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) to join our talented team of professionals in the North Central Region Office to manage the Bathymetry Data Collection Section (BDCS). You will be responsible for supervising staff, leading and supporting bathymetric and hydrographic data collection efforts in coordination with the Hydrographic and Technical Studies Section (HTSS) manager and staff.  The BDCS and HTSS, in collaboration with designated land surveyors in-responsible-charge, are responsible for project planning, data collection, post-processing, data analysis, and archiving of bathymetric data throughout the North-Central Region, primarily within the Sacramento – San Joaquin River Delta area.  This data is used to monitor riverbed changes over time and for other related hydrologic studies.  Our staff are equipped with the most modern and advanced equipment and software to collect, process, and analyze bathymetric and hydrographic data to support the State Water Project and inform water management decisions. Under the general direction of the Supervising Engineer, Water Resources (Resources Assessment Branch Manager), the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) serves as the Manager of the Bathymetry Data Collection Section for the North Central Region Office and is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of a multi-disciplinary team.
